    Carpentry Program

    Carpenters construct, erect, install and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wall board, using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools, while conforming to local building codes.  The carpentry program at Croom Vocational High School prepares students to enter into a career in the construction field.  Training is provided through direct classroom instruction and an on-site internship at the Prince George’s County House Project.

     

    Information Technology

    Computer Technicians install, repair and upgrade computer systems, software and peripherals.  The IT Essentials class offers the students the opportunity to gain in depth knowledge about many aspects of computing including hardware, networking, operating systems, diagnostics and troubleshooting.  The IT Essentials class at Croom Vocational High School also offers the students to study for the A-Plus Hardware Exam.  This exam is the industry standard for computer repair technicians and is the equivalent of 1 year of computer repair experience upon passing the exam.
