Parents: The mandatory color/style for uniform shirts remains solid black or white polo or oxford. Only freshmen have the option of wearing solid orange polo shirts. Sweaters and sweatshirts may be worn, but students MUST have on the required shirt.
Uniform Dress and students school ID are required to be worn by all students. All uniforms should be neat and clean. Students should practice good hygiene and take pride in their appearance. Hair must be completely groomed prior to arrival at school. The school uniform program will accommodate students' religious expression. No clothing, accessories, or jewelry with messages that endorse illegal activities or advertise alcoholic beverages or drugs are permitted. Shoes must be worn at all times. Violations of the dress code will result in school disciplinary action in accordance with the Code of Student Conduct. The policy is for all students.
SHIRTS
In Compliance with Uniform Policy:
- Long or short-sleeved collared, polo-style or oxford style shirts only
- Students must wear solid black or white shirts
- The only logos permitted are DuVal logos and/or DuVal sports team logos
In Violation of Uniform Policy:
- No oversized shirts
- Sleeveless tops, fishnet, crop tops, v-necks, halters, mid-drifts, muscle undershirts and T-shirts are not allowed
OTHER TOPS WORN FOR WARMTH
In Compliance with Uniform Policy:
Sweaters, sweater vests, or sweatshirts (no hoodies) only and must be:
- solid black or white
- Solid black or white thermal shirts or turtlenecks can be worn under the uniform shirts
In Violation of Uniform Policy:
- No oversized sweaters/sweatshirts
- Outerwear, such as jackets, coats and rainwear may not be worn in class and should be kept in students' lockers
PANTS / SHORTS
In Compliance with Uniform Policy:
- Fitted, Dockers-style, front and back pockets in hip area only, secured at waist with belt
- Shorts must be finger-tip length or longer
- Must be Khaki or tan
In Violation of Uniform Policy:
- May not fall below the waist, be baggy or sag
- No skin should show between shirt and pants
- No jeans of form fitting/spandex pants/leggings
SKIRTS
In Compliance with Uniform Policy:
- Must be khaki or tan
- Skirts must be finger-tip length or longer
In Violation of Uniform Policy:
- No form fitting/spandex or cut/torn material
- No skin should show between top and skirt
SHOES / BOOTS
In Compliance with Uniform Policy:
- Shoes must be fully enclosed
In Violation of Uniform Policy:
- No sandals, flip flops, open toe, or open heel shoes
HEADWEAR
In Compliance with Uniform Policy:
- Ribbons, barrettes, strings, headbands, scrunchies/pony tail holders are acceptable
- Headdresses can be worn indoors for religious or health reasons only
In Violation of Uniform Policy:
- No bandannas, hats, scarves, do-rags, skull caps, or knitted/crocheted caps
