MANDATORY UNIFORM POLICY (GRADES 6-8)

Walker Mill Middle School is a uniform school. Students are required to attend school dressed in compliance as outlined in our mandatory uniform policy below. All students may wear Navy Blue Fleece with the Walker Mill Middle School Logo. You can also visit our School Store to Purchase WMMS Polos and Fleece. Click here
Jackets worn in school MUST be the same color as the uniform shirt. Polo shirts must be worn under the jackets. NO HOODIES.

- Short or long sleeved polo shirt in the appropriate color. Shirts must fit appropriately. Shirts must be tucked in at all times so the belt can be seen.
- 6th Grade – Hunter Green
- 7th Grade – Black
- 8th Grade – Navy Blue
Solid, grade level color zip up fleece jackets (without hoods) , Solid crew neck sweaters/sweatshirts are allowed (optional) . Hoodies may not be worn. All sweaters/sweatshirts must be worn over the uniform polo shirt.
Khaki uniform pants/shorts. Pants/shorts must have belt loops. Garments must fit securely at the waist. The cuffs of pants should touch the tops of the shoes.
- Plain black or brown belt. A belt must be worn at all times. The belt must go through the belt loops and be buckled at the waist. Buckles should be gold or silver.
- Closed - toe shoes ONLY (Slides, Flip-flop, heels, heeled boots, jellies, open toed shoes etc are not permitted.)
- Head wraps, scarves, skull caps, and hats are not allowed.
- One watch may be worn. Alarms and other sounds must be silenced during school hours.

Khaki uniform pants, shorts, or skirts. Pants/shorts must have belt loops. Garments must fit securely at the waist. The cuffs of pants should touch the tops of the shoes. Shorts and skirts must be at appropriate length (must be knee length)
Solid color light (zip up only)(optional). Hoodies may not be worn. All sweaters/sweatshirts must be worn over the uniform shirt.
A belt must be worn at all times if the garment has belt loops. The belt must go through the belt loops and be buckled at the waist. Buckles should be gold or silver.
Closed - toe shoes ONLY (Slides, Flip-flop, heels, heeled boots, jellies, open toed shoes etc are not permitted.)
Head wraps, scarves, Bonnets, and hats are not allowed.
Ribbons, barrettes, strings, headbands, scrunches/ponytail holders are acceptable.
Earrings: Per PGCPS System-Wide Dress Code, students are ONLY permitted to wear earrings that are no larger than 1.5” (quarter/half dollar size).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Please ensure clothes are in good condition and not distressed and or hole free.
Coats: NO COATS can be worn in the classrooms, they must remain in the locker
Club, sports or activity groups: WMMS hosts numerous activity and sports groups. These groups are allowed to wear their group/sport/activity related T-shirt on FRIDAYS ONLY. The exception are athletes that wear their game day apparel on game day.
Consequences for not following uniform policy
- A parent/guardian will be contacted to bring the appropriate item(s) to school if the student is in violation of the uniform policy.
- Students will be given a "Out of Uniform Shirt" ~ Students will be required to leave collateral for the shirt.
- Continued violations of the uniform policy will result in disciplinary actions.
