    • NJROTC Cyber Security 1st Place
Congratulations to our NJROTC Cybersecurity Team competed and placed in the Maryland CyberPatriot - XIII Gold/Silver Tier State Round. CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future. At the core of the program is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, the nation's largest cyber defense competition that puts high school and middle school students in charge of securing virtual networks.].
State and Tier awards reflect standings within the All-Service Division (JROTC teams from all military services, plus Civil Air Patrol and Sea Cadets).
Team members: Alyssa Antoine ( captain), Joshua Blackwood (co-captain), Imran Iro, Ava Omer, Jayden Thomas, Kenneth Steffens, and Christopher Severino. Our team practiced each week (virtually) since September, and they competed in three rounds.  Each cybersecurity competition lasts for six consecutive hours.   They were resilient, despite the various technical and physical limitations affecting schools during the COVID-19 pandemic.

      Distance Learning Hotline

PGCPS Distance Learning Hotline will provide live assistance to parents/families in order to address and resolve concerns arising during the period of Distance Learning for students.   Parent/Guardians can call 240-696-6229 on Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM for live assistance for technical/equipment issues and/or instructional guidance and support.

      Parent Support Centers

PGCPS heard from parents and guardians during the implementation of distance learning this past winter/spring 2020 – assistance was needed in the areas of technology, instruction, and other supports. Thus we have strategically designated locations throughout PGCPS where parents can receive assistance with technology, accessing and navigating platforms, and other troubleshooting.

The safety of parents and staff is paramount.  Social distancing will be adhered to. Site stipulations require that all visitors wear masks. Visitors should arrive at their designated appointment time and will be instructed that only one person may enter the facility per family and children may not enter the facility.  The temperature of each center worker and each visitor will be scanned upon entry into the site.  Anyone with a temperature greater than 100 degrees will not be allowed to remain on site.  No children are allowed into the Support Center.  Parents must make arrangements for their child’s safety outside of the Parent Support Center.

Days/Times: Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.   Sign up for an appointment **An email address is required to book an appointment online.  If you do not have an email address, please book an appointment through the Parent Hotline at 240-696-3315.
