steps to take to practice for dl

Families with students returning to the classroom next month under a hybrid schedule should consider these tips for a successful transition.

☑Mandatory Masks: Encourage your child to practice properly wearing a mask at home. They are mandatory on school buses and at school.

☑No Shots, No School: Children returning to school are required to be up-to-date on all vaccinations

☑Check SchoolMax: Make sure your contact info — address, phone and email — is current in the SchoolMax portal to avoid missing critical back-to-school info.

☑No Dress Stress: Uniforms are not required this school year.

☑Sign-Up for Alerts: Avoid missing important news and updates by subscribing to school system email and text alerts.

    • Immunization Requirements

As school districts across the state work towards reopening, we remind families that all students must be up to date on state-mandated immunizations prior to returning to school. Please note these requirements have not been waived due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We encourage families to act now to ensure students have the immunizations they need to attend school. Due to the mass COVID vaccination clinics being conducted by the Prince George’s County Health Department, immunization clinics are not being held at this time. The organizations listed below provide immunizations for a small fee.

Families with insurance should make vaccination appointments with their child’s pediatrician.

Please visit the PGCPS immunization website for more information.
