Student orientations for Kindergarten & Pre-Kindergarten will be held virtually, on Zoom, on Friday, August, 28, 2022 at the following times: 

• Kindergarten Orientation: 9:00 AM. 
• Pre-Kindergarten Orientation: 10:00 AM

Walk-throughs for Parents are schedule for 10:30 AM - 12:00PM this day as well.  This is a time to locate your child's classroom. 

Grades 1, 2, and 3: September 7, 2022 at 6:30 PM
Grades 4, 5, and 6: September 8, 2022 at 6:30 PM 

Your child's teacher will reach out with more information regarding the Zoom session through their TalkingPoints (Grade 6) or ClassDojo (Grades 1-5). 

In light of the highly contagious COVID-19 BA.5 variant, masks will be mandatory in all schools and facilities effective Monday, August 15 and until further notice. This decision was recommended by the Prince George's County Health Department. 

When responding to public health threats such as COVID-19, maryland school districts have flexibility in determining mask-wearing policies. In July, PGCPS transitioned from mandatory mask-wearing to a mask-option policy for the first time since the onset of the pandemic. Mask policy is subject to change according to local and/or state health department guidance and Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations. 

Register Your Child for School

Rogers Heights has staff available to help you register your children for school everyday from 9:30am - 2:00pm. There are also evening hours at some of the nearby hubs. Click here for more information.
