    Interesting Notes: She traveled to China in 2007 as a Student Ambassador for the People to People program.  She volunteers her time teaching Bible study classes, working for the March of Dimes, and for Gorgeous Prince George’s Day.  She has earned more than 1000 community service hours and works 20 hours a week at a local retirement community.  Erika attended Buck Lodge MS as an eighth grader.

    Extra Curricular Activities: President of the Justice League Advisory Board, Mentoring to Manhood, Inc., Mind Builders English and Mathematics tutor, Senior Class Ambassador, President of National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Spanish Club (former Vice President), Key Club, Softball team, Poetry Club, Future Business Leaders of America, and active church member (choir, Liturgical Dance Group, Liturgy of the Word Ministry, Hospitality Ministry).

    Future Goals: Plans to pursue a career in Education at Case Western Reserve University.  She was accepted to 11 other colleges and universities including University of Dayton, Towson University, Wesleyan College in Georgia and Hampton University.

    Interesting Notes: She has completed more than 300 hours of community service.  Her poetry has been published by the American League of Poets.  She has written for the Catholic Standard Newspaper (Youth Section) and currently writes for the Olde Mill Newspaper of the Kettering/Largo community.  She is also an International Marketing Director for America Mi Dream where she works on projects in web design, writing short stories, and networking.

    Interesting Notes: Through his art, Anthony has beautified the Laurel HS campus, by painting the benches outside the school, painting a mural in the Career Center, decorating the Junior Hall, and decorating the Senior Hall.  He also designed the “Senior Graduate T-Shirt”.  His chalk painting was featured in The Washington Post when he was in the fifth grade and his “Shoe Illustration” was shown in the Maryland Gallery.  Anthony has travelled to the United Kingdom as a student ambassador with the People to People program.

    Interesting Notes:  Maria has been playing the violin since the 6th grade and is a member of the orchestra even though her current class schedule would not permit her to enroll in the class.  She attends classes after school to continue her lessons and to be able to participate in performances.  Maria was selected as a semi-finalist for the Posse Scholarship and received the distinction of Honorable Mention as a Maryland Distinguished Scholar.  Maria’s high school transcript contains all A’s.
