Safety Protocols - Steps Everyone Can Take to Make Large Gatherings Safer

No students, staff, or guests over 2 years old will be permitted to enter the venue without a mask due to CDC restrictions. All attendees must remain 6-ft. apart to ensure social/physical distancing. Seats for guests at the respective sites will be blocked off to promote social distancing. The more steps you can take, the safer you will be at the gathering. No one measure is enough to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

      • Wear a mask with two or more layers to stop the spread of COVID-19 to protect yourself and others.

      • Wear your mask over your nose and mouth, secure it under your chin, and make sure it fits snugly against the sides of your face

      • Keep a spare mask in case your mask becomes wet from moisture in your breath or from rain.

      • Stay at least 6 feet away from people who do not live with you

      • You are less likely to get or spread COVID-19 during outdoor activities. Look for seating options that are outside or have proper ventilation with outdoor air, such as tents that have open doors or rolled up sides.

      • Wash your hands; wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing and before eating.

      • If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Bring extra hand sanitizer with you.

      • Avoid touching your mask, eyes, nose, and mouth.

    • First Quarter Principal's Message 11-15-20

      Hello Students and Parents:

This is Dr. McRae, Principal of Tall Oaks High School.

I know it’s been a while since my last communication. We recently converted to a new communication service called School Messenger” after a long wait. So you will be receiving communication from me and the school staff through this service going forward. Please accept our communication.

There are several updates and concerns I need to share with you:

With the challenges of Distance Learning it is important that every student has access to instruction through a PGCPS Chromebook.  Using non-PGCPS devices may not provide access to all required activities and programs.

Students are expected to attend every class, every day and on time.

While in class, students should have their camera on and participate in the instruction. Only students whose parent or guardian submitted the “Opt Out Form” at the beginning of the quarter are exempted from turning on their camera.

Wednesdays have been designated as “Intervention Wednesday”. This is the day the school system has set up for students to receive additional support from their teachers, and opportunities for students to participate in other enrichment activities.

Wednesdays are not days off for students or staff. We should still be present and engaged.

Technology problems must be communicated by the parent or guardian on the day that they occur.

The technology team will respond to all technology problems and correct those within their control. Please email technology concerns to : tallo.techsupport@pgcps.org . You may send a copy to cordelia.polley@pgcps.org as a back up.

Finally, it’s Report Card Time! Grades are currently available in Schoolmax.

Students can download their report card from schoolmax and parents can see them in the Parent Portal.

If you believe you need to Appeal a grade, you only have five days to submit the Grade Appeal  form. Please make sure you have submitted any grade appeal by Friday, November 20, 2020.

      Please stay safe.
