The Bladensburg High School Academy of Health and Biosciences aims to prepare students for success in the related industries. Students will be exposed to careers in health care and biosciences while building the academic and practical skills necessary to transition successfully into the competitive global economy. Additionally, students will gain the skill sets needed to prepare them for progression into post - secondary education.

Bladensburg High School Academy of Health and Bioscience students will:
- Foster a rigorous learning environment that enhances student critical thinking and decision making skills through application, analysis and investigation.
- Explore various pathways into the health care and bioscience industry.
- Create a service learning relationship between the school and community stakeholders.
- Compete for scholarships, internships as well as test for certification.
Programs of Study
- Biomedical Science: The Biomedical Science Program explores the full application of Biomedical Science in current and future technology. Through their course of study, students will take the following core courses:
- Principals of Biomedical Science (PBS)
- Human Body Systems (HBS)
- Medical Interventions (MI)
- Biomedical Innovations (BI)
- Health Professions: Students in this program begin in Pharmacy and then can enroll in Nursing during open enrollment in their 10th grad year.
