POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of
the Director of Community Schools, the Coordinating Supervisor will be responsible
for providing assistance to the Director with managing the day-to-day
operations for Community Schools; including the administration, supervision,
and coordination of services in the department aligned with the mission of
guiding, assisting and supporting the Community Schools Specialists; and
effective home and community communication and utilization of resources.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Develops,
organizes and monitors department processes as they relate to fiscal, staffing,
and services;
Coordinates
and supports the staff to ensure initiatives and programs offered by the
department are executed;
Evaluates
assigned personnel in alignment with articulated Board of Education personnel
guidelines and procedures;
Collaborates
and assists with daily supervision and management of the Community School
Specialists;
Provides
support to the Community Schools Specialists with managing Community Schools
Coordinators;
Provides
assistances to the Director with interviewing and selection of staff;
Represents
Community Schools at meetings and conferences to give and receive information, as
requested;
Serve
as facilitator and presenter for orientation to new Community Schools
Specialists and other employees, as needed;
Conducts
and oversees Community Schools site visits;
Serves
in the absence of the Director, provides directives and serves as a liaison to
the school system and other agency personnel, as required; and
Performs
other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Demonstrated
leadership in guiding diverse groups of people through problem-solving;
Possess
knowledge of state-wide assessments, requirements for special populations and
competencies in technology related skills;
Demonstrated
ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions and ability to exercise
independent initiative to perform assignments;
Knowledge
and skills in the professional roles, functions and disciplines within a
department or school; and
Demonstrates
leadership in guiding diverse groups of people through problem-solving.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree from an
accredited college or university in educational administration required. A
minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory position required; five
(5) years of successful teaching experience within a secondary school classroom preferred.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced Professional
Certificate with Administrator I endorsement required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees and provides guidance and
direction to assigned personnel.
