POSITION SUMMARY:


  This position provides support in the system wide implementation and execution of all federally funded reimbursable USDA Child Nutrition Programs and non-reimbursable programs, including but not limited to the Supper, Snacks and Summer Food Service Programs. This position provides support to schools and community based organizations requesting participation in the afterschool and summer meal programs, maintains a data base of all programs and mandatory accountability reports. Work involves frequent contact with program coordinators, supervisors, account managers and cafeteria managers. This includes providing printed materials, phone and email communication.   

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Receives and processes all requests for Supper, Snack and Summer meals;

Maintains files, records, reports and routine correspondence;

Confirms request, start and end dates of meal service with kitchen staff;

Sets-up, maintains and updates data of all participating schools;

Maintains and updates school site information sheets and personnel files;

Answers phone inquiries;

Serves as the liaison with program coordinators and kitchen staff for reporting changes in meal counts and attendance;

Maintains a log and files of all USDA mandatory site visits and reports by program;

Prepares Program information packets for distribution to site coordinators;

Prepares monthly bills for snack programs, bulk snack sales;

Format monthly menus for the print shop and website;

Assist with nutrient analysis data entry;

Maintains and updates staffing sheets by school;

Prepare requisitions for printing;

Process meal benefit applications;

Collate all files and reports for review and audit by MSDE;

Performs other clerical duties as assigned; and

Serves as back-up to the Application Records Technician as required.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Good knowledge of the USDA Child Nutrition Programs policies and procedures;

Ability to operate a computer with proficiency, skilled in Microsoft Office tools;

Ability to perform routine and diversified clerical work involving independent judgment and established policies;

Ability to multi-task;

Strong organizational skills;

Ability to communicate effectively;

Working knowledge of the processing of meal benefit applications;

Ability to enter data for extended period of time using customized software; and

Ability to work effectively with constant interruptions and meet scheduled timelines.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


 

Graduation from high school with three years progressively responsible experience in processing and records management; or any other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provides the knowledge, abilities and skills necessary to perform effectively in this position.
