POSITION SUMMARY:
Under
the direction of the IT Supervisor, the Hardware Inventory Associate will conduct
physical inventory counts of computer equipment in schools and administrative
offices, and will work with school and administrative office teams to reconcile
their physical assets with their data in the PGCPS electronic asset management
inventory system. The duties and
responsibilities include assisting the Hardware Inventory Coordinator in the planning
and monitoring of technology inventories at schools and administrative offices.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Conducts
physical inventories of technology equipment in schools and offices;
Assists
school and administrative office personnel in the reconciliation of physical
inventory counts with data in the PGCPS electronic asset management system;
Assists
school and administrative office personnel in the planning and accounting of
their technology assets;
Provides
technical assistance to schools and administrative offices in the use of the
PGCPS electronic asset management system, as well as physical inventory
procedures;
Provides
training and communicates opportunities for continuing education to IT
technicians and school staff in inventory management;
Assists
in the planning and maintenance of the systems of accountability and control
for PGCPS;
Assists
the Hardware Inventory Coordinator in ensuring accounting records for property
and equipment reflect physical inventories;
Recommends
new and revised procedures to reflect property management best practices; and
Performs
other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Knowledge
of inventory and property control procedures, including automated and manual
systems;
Knowledge
of inventory reconciliation processes;
High
attention to detail and strong organization skills;
Strong
customer service and communication skills;
Ability
to communicate with all levels of personnel in the organization;
Ability
to work cooperatively as a team member; and
Ability
to organize and coordinate plans and schedules with schools and offices for
inventory visits.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma required; preferably supplemented by
college-level courses and/or training in logistics and supply chain management. A minimum of two (2) years of previous
experience in property, plant and equipment, or technology inventory controls
systems; or supply management operations.
