POSITION SUMMARY:
Under
the direction of the IT Supervisor, the Hardware Inventory Coordinator will be
responsible for the planning, distribution and inventory monitoring of all
student and staff computer hardware. An
employee in this class, under general supervision, has the continuing
responsibility of developing improvements in a centralized inventory management
system and the direct responsibility to oversee and manage the overall operations
of inventory control. The Hardware
Inventory Coordinator performs administrative tasks that are imposed by a
centralized inventory management system.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Manages
the overall inventory of computer hardware for PGCPS;
Maintains
updated electronic inventory data for every work location and ensures data
accuracy;
Collaborates
with the project managers of the technology distribution centers to track
inventory coming into the school system and that which is disposed of in
accordance with PGCPS administrative procedures;
Receives
technology inventory requests from schools and departments and distributes
technology as needed;
Develops
and maintains internal reporting systems for storage and distribution
operations;
Develops
and implements policies and/or standard operating procedures related to
inventory management;
Tracks
all lost and damaged technology equipment;
Researches
and resolves inventory discrepancies;
Organizes
and conducts annual inventory reviews of technology equipment;
Maintains
frequent contact with the technology distribution centers and provides
technical assistance as required; routinely conducts site visits to visually
inspect inventory on hand;
Prepares
and submits reports and statistical data as required; and
Performs
other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Knowledge
of methods and practices involved in the efficient operation of logistical
distribution systems;
Knowledge
of database management and inventory tracking systems;
Knowledge
of inventory control procedures;
High
attention to detail and strong organization skills;

to communicate with all levels of personnel in the organization;

Ability
to take initiative and develop new processes and procedures.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma required; preferably supplemented by
college-level courses and/or training in logistics and supply chain
management. A minimum of three (3) years
of previous experience in logistics, supply chain management or a related field
required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May
oversee and provide guidance to department personnel.
