POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the
Senior Compensation and Classification Partner, the Human Resources Junior
Partner – Compensation and Classification performs specialized and analytical
work related to compensation and classification strategies, policies, programs
and initiatives. The incumbent of this
position provides guidance and assistance in salary reviews, supplemental
payments, position descriptions and all compensation and classification related
functions. The Human Resources Junior
Partner – Compensation and Classification will serve as a member of a
cross-functional team that supports the employment lifecycle and provides
efficient and effective customer service.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Resolves frontline
compensation-related issues and concerns with discretion and maintains
confidentiality of sensitive information; identifies and refers complex issues
to the appropriate Compensation and Classification Partner;
Serves
as the technical point of contact for Principals and/or their emolument
designee to provide guidance regarding school-level data entry in the Oracle
Compensatory Emolument platform; schedules and facilities individual and small
group sessions as needed;
Prepares
second assignment documents for review and submission and updates the
accompanying routing and tracking tools; monitors and tracks requests through
the review/approval process;
Assists
with the monitoring, tracking and evaluation of supplemental payment documents;
sends out applicable reminders and related notifications;
Prepares
and analyzes routine and specialized reports to assist with salary setting and
to identify errors and/or anomalies in supplemental payments to employees;
Troubleshoots
technical issues with related technology platforms, including but not limited
to the Oracle Compensatory Emolument platform and the Second Assignment Apex
routing tool; elevates issues to IT as necessary;
Gathers, reviews, compiles
and maintains data from a variety of systems to prepare accurate and
comprehensive reports for supervisors and leadership;
Provides document preparation in the
development of program schedules, materials, flyers, brochures, videos,
PowerPoint presentations and other related materials;
Supports the
accomplishment of the Human Resources Division mission and objectives by
completing diverse, technical and complex administrative duties that support
the employment life cycle and employment functions;
Attends and participates in team and
divisional staff meetings to assist in continuous improvement with
communications, customer service and planning; and
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Knowledge
and experience of human resources best practices and principles;
Experience
with Human Resource Information Systems - Oracle preferred;
Ability
to function independently and work within a team;
Ability
to exercise appropriate judgment and discretion in providing administrative and
technical support regarding Human Resources within PGCPS;
Ability
to collect, compile and analyze data, assemble information and prepare reports;
Ability
to effectively interpret and communicate human resource policies and
procedures;
Ability
to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates,
officials and employees;
Ability
to prioritize, plan and execute multiple, complicated and continuing
assignments in a timely and efficient manner;
Ability
to maintain confidentiality;
Excellent
oral and written communication and presentation skills;
Excellent
interpersonal and organizational skills; and
Must
be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook,
etc.) and Google applications.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from
a regionally accredited college or university with major coursework in human
resources, business administration or a closely related field preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of increasingly responsible
professional experience directly related to human resources required. Previous experience specializing in
compensation/classification in a collective bargaining environment preferred.
