POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of
the Director of Instructional Technology Support, the IT Supervisor is
responsible for assisting with establishing and enforcing policies that protect
the interest of PGCPS’ investment in technology that align with the goals of
the organization. Responsibilities include supervising IT Technicians,
providing leadership and development of human capital, supporting the use of
technology and instructional technology integration in schools and administrative
offices, managing technology inventory, designing solutions for employee and
student technology support, and leading IT-related projects.
The IT Supervisor will
organize, develop, monitor, and support assigned team members’ activities
involving system-wide and school-based technical support activities designed to
support all staff and students to further the use of information systems. The
IT Supervisor will assist in evaluating staff performance, monitor day to day
activities, coverage, technical needs and/or assignments. The incumbent will
assist with identifying, implementing and maintaining best practices in the
field of instructional technology as well as assist in the implementation of
the system and state technology plans.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Coordinates
and supervises the operation and workflow of all services provided throughout
the school district by the Office of Technology Support Services;
Manages
the technology inventory for the school system, including student devices, and
ensures all inventory procedures are being followed;
Writes
and disseminates communication documents and evaluations;
Evaluates
assigned personnel in alignment with articulated Board of Education personnel
guidelines and procedures;
Evaluates
the design and delivery of research-based instructional technology practices
for instruction at all levels;
Conducts
assessment, data collection, and analysis of formal and informal data for use
in targeting and monitoring the effectiveness of technical support/training
programs;
Monitors
Help Desk ticket resolution timelines;
Assists
in the successful administration of online testing;
Assists
in the development and implementation of PGCPS Technology Plan;
Supervises
staff development activities;
Collaborates
with other departments implementing programs and projects;
Develops,
oversees and follows professional development plans and actively seek out
opportunities to grow professionally;
Prepares
and submits accurate reports, as required;
Assists
the Director in the interviewing and hiring of department personnel;
Serves
in the absence of the Director, communicating department directives;
Supports
the activities of the Divisions of Information Technology, Academics,
Accountability, and the Area Offices to ensure complimentary services as
instructional technology is used to increase student achievement;
Coordinates
services which are aligned to the requirements of both school and offices;
Assists
in establishing and assessing annual goals of the office; and
Performs
other duties as assigned.

Excellent

Recent
(within last 6 months) work experience in the area of Instructional Technology;
Demonstrate

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree from an
accredited college or university in technology, education or a closely related
field required. A minimum of five (5)
years of successful experience in supporting the technology needs of end users,
including hardware and software, of which at least three (3) must have been in
a supervisory capacity required. Three (3) or more years of experience within
K-12 school systems preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees and supervises
staff of an assigned office within the department.
