POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the
direction of the Information
Technology (IT) Supervisor, the Information Technology Technician III is
responsible for managing and supporting IT Technicians I & II in their
assigned locations. This is a county-wide position and will require
non-specific assignments to schools and administrative offices throughout the
school district. The incumbent will also manage, administer and troubleshoot special
IT projects throughout the school year, as assigned.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Manages and administers device
management systems for various platforms to include Mac OS, iOS, Chrome OS, and
Windows;
Leads the inventory process,
provides asset management training to the IT Technicians and assists IT
Technicians with issues related to asset management in their field locations;
Provides excellent customer service
to all schools and administrative offices;
Facilitates the technical support
for all technology-related
services to ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner;
Works with IT and Testing Department
to manage, rollout and troubleshoot on-line testing solutions;
Participates
in the hiring, training, evaluating, goal setting, managing and leave approval
of assigned personnel;
Works with staff to plan and
implement technology projects, as assigned;
Plans and organizes staff meetings,
staff development, training, in-service activities and related events;
Ensures school-based IT Technicians are
receiving Tier 3 support from Network Engineers, as necessary;
Attends Division of Information
Technology Technician meetings;
Attends training activities provided
by the Division of Information Technology and/or vendors; and
Performs
other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Functional working knowledge of device
management systems such as JAMF, Chrome, Management Console and InTune;
Working knowledge of network operation;
Working knowledge of various operating systems
both stand-alone and network;
Ability to cooperatively work as a team member;
Effective human relations skills, including good
oral and written communication skills;
Must be able to travel daily to and from
multiple locations;
Willingness to work flexible hours,
and the ability to work at various locations;
Participate in mentoring IT Technicians I and II
as necessary; and
Ability to facilitate and lead team activities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in
information technology or a related field from an accredited college or university
preferred. A minimum of three (3) years
of related work experience in the information technology field required. In lieu of the education requirement, a total
of five (5) years of directly related successful work experience in the
information technology field may be substituted.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
A-Plus
Certification, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), and/or Microsoft
Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises and
provides guidance to IT Technicians I and II.
