POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the direction of the Director of Technology Integration and Support, the Information Technology Coordinator will be responsible for providing professional learning and support to school system staff on effective use of PGCPS digital resources, hardware, and core district initiatives.  Work includes assisting assigned staff with the technical administration, maintenance, and management of technology systems and resources.  Willingness to work flexible hours, including conducting or attending evening in-service and meetings. 

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Coordinates, plans and provides professional development activities, including model lessons that involve using, designing, and supporting district approved technology hardware and digital resources;

Assists school system personnel in the development, implementation and proper usage of applications that support instructional, administrative and system needs;

Assists with the inventory troubleshooting, maintenance, and administration of both the hardware and access to digital applications virtually and in person for school and district staff;

Communicates and supports the adherence of district policy and standard operating procedures provided by the Division of Information Technology and district staff; and

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Considerable knowledge and background in emerging technology trends and initiatives;

Ability to troubleshoot problems effectively and communicate solutions to nontechnical staff members;

Willingness to work flexible hours, including conducting or attending professional learning activities and meetings beyond the regularly scheduled workday;

Ability to work cooperatively as a team member;

Ability to execute tasks independently;

Effective time management and administrative skills;

Effective human relations skills; and

 

Good oral and written communications skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor’s degree in education, information systems/technology or a related field required. Five (5) years of experience working with adults to support technology professional learning preferred.

No direct supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:


Driver’s License and reliable transportation is required inasmuch as there will be a need to travel to sites throughout the school district.
