POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the direction of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, the Literacy Data Coordinator will manage and support all K-12 internal and external literacy programs within the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. The incumbent of this position will serve as a liaison between the district and university partners involved in literacy initiatives, fostering collaboration, sharing resources, and coordinating joint programs.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Collaborates with internal teams, external partners and community stakeholders to coordinate data collection efforts, share insights and identify areas for improvement in literacy initiatives;

Serves as a liaison between the district and university partners involved in literacy initiatives, fostering collaboration, sharing resources and coordinating programs;

Oversees the district's literacy data management system, ensuring data integrity, security and accessibility for authorized personnel;

Generates reports and visualizations to communicate key findings and trends in literacy data to internal and external stakeholders, such as program effectiveness, participant progress and outcomes;

Designs and implements systems for collecting, organizing and analyzing literacy-related data, such as reading levels, test scores and demographic information;

Develops evaluation frameworks and assessment tools to measure the impact and effectiveness for program improvement; conducts ongoing monitoring and evaluation activities;

Assists in the development of grant proposals and funding applications by providing data, reports and evidence of program impact;

Engages in professional development activities; attends conferences, workshops and webinars to stay updated with emerging tools, technologies and methodologies in data management and literacy programming to inform program design and decision-making; and

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Knowledge of current literacy and instructional best practices;

Knowledge of how data informs decision-making; ability to use data to determine program effectiveness;

Familiar with the grant writing process;

Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders;

Excellent computer literacy including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, cloud-based systems;

Excellent skills in analysis and use of data to support instructional decisions and acceleration of students;

Possesses problem solving skills to manage various programs and platforms;

Excellent organizational, human relation and management skills; and

Excellent oral and written communication, facilitation, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, literacy, reading education or a closely related field required.  A minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in reading instruction required.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


Advanced Professional Certificate with Administrator I endorsement required.

No direct supervisory responsibilities.
