POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the direction of the Supervisor of Capital Programs, the Management Analyst – Capital Programs manages data and administrative requirements for the department. The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the development and administration of procedures and methods for the proper maintenance and operation of school system property and effecting economics through efficient utilization of materials and personnel. The work is analytical in nature with the goal of improving efficiencies and productivity throughout the department. The work is reviewed for results obtained in meeting the objectives and goals of the department.  

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Analyzes and tracks the performance metrics of Capital Programs (i.e.; prepares reports, charts, and tracks data using departmental records);

Creates data management systems and programs, as required;

Creates, manages, maintains and updates information systems and reports;

Provides daily updates of work performed through monitoring and extraction of reports from automated online work order system and project management tracking software system;

Assists in tracking contract bid documents; as requested;

Assists in training personnel on new hardware and/or administrative and information systems;

Assists and develops administrative procedures for the department;

Develops and maintains required department reports that support effective and efficient operations;

Edits and formulates correspondence and communications within the department, with other departments in the school system, with all other relevant organizations and individuals;

Researches information necessary for the solution of technical issues;

Researches and prepares office reports; and

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of management;

Knowledge of personal computer software systems including word processing and data processing;

Knowledge of project management systems;

Considerable analytical skills to facilitate research, provide statistical information, and perform simple operations;

 Ability to plan, implement and evaluate;

 Ability to initiate correspondence and prepare reports both orally and in writing; and

 Effective human relations and communication skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in management, operations administration, data management, project management or closely related field required.  A minimum of five (5) years of administrative management experience required.  In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of eight (8) years of analytical, productivity improvement experience in a support environment such as government, distribution, school system operations or management construction may be considered.
