POSITION SUMMARY:


  Under the direction of the Manager of Medicaid Recovery, the Medicaid Program Liaison regularly visits and monitors assigned schools and acts as program contact for the Medicaid billing process.    

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Visiting schools and acting as a Program Liaison for the Medicaid billing process;

Answering question and providing assistance to IEP coordinators and health related staff in filling out encounter forms for billing Medicaid;

Maintaining files and records of training attendance, completion, and evaluation, compiling monthly statistics and producing reports on the performance of assigned schools;

Continually assessing and evaluating the quality and effectiveness of training in order to maximize Medicaid reimbursement and assists in developing new or enhanced training, policies and procedures;

Initiating and scheduling annually in service training for all schools for review and/or update in the Medicaid billing process;

Attending training provided by the Federal and State government as appropriate;

Keeping up to date on all new and/or changing Federal and State laws and/or regulations pertaining to Medicaid billing for the school system; and

Exercising good judgment and discretion in resolving personnel concerns or in applying and interpreting policies and procedures.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Good knowledge of Medicaid procedure rules and regulations for billing processes;

Ability to serve as liaison to school system staff involved in a cost recovery program;

Ability to provide training for all new and existing program participants;

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials and representatives from agencies outside of the school system; and

Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


 

A minimum of two (2) years of college is preferred in a health related field or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
