POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Manager of Medicaid Recovery, the Medicaid Program Technician is responsible for coordinating and maintaining an efficient operating system for Medicaid cost recovery. The incumbent is responsible for providing and interpreting accurate information and guidance in support of program evaluation, strategic planning, policy development and decision-making. Success of work is measured in terms of effectiveness in accomplishing objectives.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Coordinating
all technical aspects relating to the Medicaid cost recovery program;
Maintaining
and implementing a regular schedule for transmittal of billing claims from the
State Medicaid Office;
Maintaining
and implementing a regular schedule for downloading adjudicated files of paid
claims from the Medicaid Office;
Maintaining
and implementing a regular schedule for following up on unpaid claims;
Researching
and resubmitting any applicable rejected claims;
Generating
reports with regard to billing amounts, paid/unpaid claims, monthly audit
reports by discipline and monthly audit reports for IEP coordination
management;
Coordinating
the utilization of the Purchase Order Tracking software, generating a monthly
report showing the amounts earned/spent and the balance broken down by
area/school; and providing a report for all participating disciplines;
Interfacing
with software contractor for technical support;
Acting
as liaison with data management office on all aspects of EXCENT, mainframe data
exchange; and
Performing
related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Good technical knowledge of program related software and software applications and equipment;
Working knowledge of computer applications for developing spreadsheets, project schedules, expenditures analyses and written documents;
Some knowledge of other networking and operating systems;
Knowledge of various database engines in the areas of use and maintenance;
Good oral and written communication skills;
Ability to troubleshoot;
Effective human relation skills; and
Ability to exercise independent judgment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's degree in Information Technology/Systems with knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
