POSITION SUMMARY:


  An employee in this class relates policies, requirements and objectives of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) to child care providers and the general public.  Work duties include reviewing menus and invoices, processing monthly claims in accordance with federal and state guidelines, including enrolling new applicants, and assisting in workshops.  Work is performed under the general supervision of the Child and Adult Care Food Program Supervisor.   

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Reviews and assist with the development of menus to ensure proper health and safety requirements are met in accordance with the national and local food and safety standards;

Receives and process invoices and monthly claims ensuring accuracy and compliance with program requirements;

Computes total creditable meals and forwards claims for reimbursement;

Gathers monthly statistics and report results to supervisor;

Maintains enrollment records and process new applications, including communicating policies, requirements and objectives of the program;

Assists in the development of materials for preparation of presentations given at the  provider workshops and conducts training sessions as required;

Provides technical assistance to participants during required home visits; and

Performs related duties as assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Thorough knowledge of policies, regulations and objectives of the CACFP;

Excellent communications and human relations skills;

Ability to prepare and maintain complex records and prepare accurate reports from such records;

Ability to develop materials for utilization in workshops and training sessions;

Must be efficient in the utilization of general office equipment; and

Ability to exercise good judgment, good interpersonal skills, tact, patience, and courtesy; and

Good physical condition.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


 

High School diploma supplemented by courses in nutrition and/or food service operations preferred, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


No direct supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 25 lbs.
