POSITION SUMMARY:


  The Biomedical Program Coordinator is responsible for providing assistance to the Principal with implementing and monitoring the program.  Additionally, the Coordinator will report directly to the principal of the school.   

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Coordinating program planning and implementation;

Assisting with the selection and ordering of approved instructional materials;

Assisting the principal with selection of staff;

Providing informational sessions for staff and parents;

Assisting with the orientation of the Biomedical Program;

Assisting principal with grouping and scheduling of students;

Assisting with student recruitment, application, and placement processes;

Providing in-service to staff and administrators;

Providing support to teachers with implementing program design;

Teaching demonstration lessons;

Participating in the school-based instructional decision making process;

Forging and maintaining community and business partnerships;

Developing, aligning and implementing Biomedical curriculum;

Organizing and implementing enrichment and extended learning opportunities for students;

Providing parent involvement opportunities; and

Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Demonstrated leadership and administrative competency;

Ability to organize and prioritize the many aspects of the position;

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;

Broad knowledge of high school science programs;

Strong background in Science;

Five years of successful teaching experience;

Knowledge of the use of computers;

Demonstrated written and oral communication skills;

Effective human relations skills;

Evidence of effective leadership skills.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


 

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred. 

 

 



CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


 

Advanced Professional Certificate in a Science area preferably with Biology Certification; Administration I certification preferred.


 

 



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


No direct supervisory responsibilities.
