POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the direction of the Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for performing all of the necessary tasks for implementation of the program to the targeted schools.  The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day management of the project to ensure that the outcomes are achieved and that the project is viable at all times.  This is an active role and includes ensuring that the project involves all required system units, engaging stakeholders, approving key deliverables, supervising and executing the budget, giving direction as and when required, and making decisions or recommendations during the project’s life cycle.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Initiates and develops overall objectives for the office; assesses needs, establishes priorities; develops specific objectives and strategies; implements the processes and procedures for the success of the program;

Monitors progress regularly by conducting project status meetings;

Performs the overall day-to-day management of the project to ensure the project’s objectives are achieved within time/cost/quality constraints;

Performs the required record keeping tasks and maintains the appropriate records;

Creates and publishes project materials for distribution;

Provides timely performance reports; provides frequent updates to the Senior Project Manager;

Communicates effectively with project constituents, key stakeholders, project partners, parents, students, and community partners to carry out the goals and objectives of the program;

Assists with orientation, training and overseeing volunteers and community partners;

Plans and participates in a wide variety of activities that meet the scope of work;

Serves as the liaison to community partners; and

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Ability to work efficiently and effectively with key stakeholders;

Ability to initiate correspondence and prepare professional reports;

Ability to plan, implement and evaluate, and develop effective work standards and schedules;

Knowledge of relevant project management methods and principles;

Knowledge of public procurement regulations and procedures;

Good communications skills, both written and verbal;

Superior interpersonal skills;

Knowledge of and comfort with Microsoft Office Suite software including Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint;

Expertise in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera; and

Prepared to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks ongoing at the same time. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major work in leadership, administration development, or a related area required; Master’s degree preferred.  Training and experience in program administration and project management in a public school system or similar organization.
