The Cadet Officer Leadership Program (COLP) celebrates its 30th year in operation. This is the 30th year that Prince George’s County Public Schools Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps instructors have conducted COLP. The program has successfully graduated over 8000 young men and women who have gone on to be leaders in their schools JROTC programs, organizations, and communities.
The COLP is designed to prepare second and third year cadets for leadership positions within their perspective JROTC units. It challenges cadets mentally and physically to develop their abilities to lead, follow, and apply newly acquired skills in practical situations.
Also by design a select group of senior cadets known as Training Instructors (TIs) serve as team leaders for the younger cadets, receiving mentoring and guidance from a cadre of JROTC Instructors as they prepare them for high school graduation and future endeavors.
Our goal is to produce leaders!
